According to Laura Albanese of Newsday, Holmes will not need surgery and the injury should not be season-ending. However, with Holmes going on the injured list, the Mets are considering putting Tobias Myers into the rotation. Mike Puma of the New York Post added to what Albanese reported and noted that along with not needing surgery, Mendoza does believe Holmes will pitch again in 2026.
