The Phoenix Suns and Dillon Brooks agreed to a three-year extension through the 2029-30 NBA season, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.  https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/2085175910064374119?s=20   Brooks, the nine-year NBA veteran, joined the Suns during the 2025-26 season after spending two years with the Houston Rockets.  Brooks was entering the final season of an $86 million, four-year deal he signed with the Houston Rockets in 2023. The Suns have spent much of the offseason locking up the core of last season’s team to long-term deals, including guards Collin Gillespie and Jordan Goodwin, along with center Mark Williams. Phoenix also traded for forward Miles Bridges, sending Grayson Allen and Royce O’Neale to Charlotte. Brooks appeared in 56 games, averaging a career-best 20.2 ppg and leading the Suns into a new era after they parted ways with Kevin Durant.   With the emergence of Brooks in Phoenix, the Suns returned to the playoffs as the eighth seed after missing the postseason the year prior, but got swept by the Oklahoma City Thunder.  Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

Tigers Not Planning Fire Sale After Skubal Trade - MLB Trade Rumors

After months of rumors, the Tigers finally dealt Tarik Skubal yesterday, sending the two-time Cy Young Award to the Dodgers for a three-player package (River Ryan and prospects Zyhir Hope and Brady Smith). While moving Skubal reflects the reality of the Tigers’ disappointing 54-58 record, it appears as though the club isn’t ready to become full sellers.
